Summary: This poem describes the following snippets of Ramayan - Bala kanda, as a sonnet called Marriage of Lord Ram, which is part of Sita Kalyanam series. Princess Sita was lost in Lord Ram’s charming grace, and prayed Goddess to be consort of RaghuRam. Scores of men pulled the divine bow of Lord Shiv, to the court of Janak. Raghuveer lifted it in a moment, and the great bow broke during threading. Princess Sita was overwhelmed with joy, and placed the garland around SriRam.

Sita Kalyanam | Sonnet – 5 | Marriage of Lord Ram

Sita’s heart got encased in Raghu Ram’s charming grace,
Worshipped Goddess to be consort of Sri Ram;
Bearer of Worlds left an impact so immense,
Sita could no longer bear separation from Ram.

Scores of men pulled bow of Shiv to the court,
Raghuveer took little time to lift it across;
Threading broke the divine bow sharply athwart,
wading through the shyness, Siya held the garland to endorse.

Dodging the smiles and in small steps, Siya went nigh RaghuRam,
bridesmaids in tow, helped her towards the cheerful Ram;
Dressed as an Angel, Siya reached a stunned SriRam,
placed garland around Ram and became SiyaRam.

God has come as Ram to prove his kind grace,
faith is Ram as Icon, faith is God’s peace.
